History of Bread

Today there are several types of bread, for all tastes, French bread, homemade bread, sliced bread, Italian bread, whole wheat bread, ciabatta, sweet bread… And how does fresh bread go down well?

Well, it is estimated that bread appeared 12 thousand years ago, in Mesopotamia, along with the cultivation of wheat. But at that time, bread was flat, hard, dry and bitter.

It was in Egypt that there are reports of the emergence of bread baked in a clay oven, where the fermentation of wheat was discovered. At that time, bread was considered a staple food and a symbol of power. The Egyptians dedicated a lot of time and space to preparing bread; at that time, some ovens were the size of a football field.

It is estimated that bread arrived in Brazil with the Portuguese, who offered it to the Indians, but they were not very favorable, because they consumed cassava derivatives.

Since the discovery of bread until today, it has been linked to human life as both a food and an economic, political, religious, artistic and cultural symbol.

Sigamaq is always looking for new technologies to revolutionize the post-oven line, providing better service and better product quality for the end consumer.
